KIRK M. CARLSON, MBA, CPA
Kirk is the President of McDonald Carlson CPAs. Prior to joining the firm Kirk managed his own practice and worked for several Metro Detroit businesses over that last twenty years as their senior financial manager.
He began his professional accounting career as a staff accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Detroit.
Kirk is a licensed Michigan CPA since 1993.
He earned a BA in International Relations, James Madison College, Michigan State University and an MBA with a concentration in accounting from Wayne State University.
Kirk is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA).
Kirk has been an Associate Professor at Walsh College in Troy and a Lecturer in Wayne State University’s School of Business and has taught introductory financial accounting, managerial accounting and accounting information systems courses since 2003.
An avid runner, Kirk has finished 16 marathons, including running the Detroit Marathon six times. He is married and has three adult children.
